Club Active has a variety of water and land-based group fitness classes for all levels and interests.
 

With the exception of Spin classes, which are only held at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre (WRAC), all of these classes are held at both WRAC and Freyberg Pool & Fitness Centre.

At Freyberg, you will need to book classes, but at WRAC you can just turn up.

Aqua classes are also available at the Council's other main pools.

Activate Aqua

A fun, easy-paced, low-impact, shallow-water class suitable for all levels and abilities.

 

Aquafit

50 min
medium intensity

A class suitable for all levels and abilities that includes cardiovascular fitness, muscle conditioning and toning.

 

Aqua Deep

45 min
high intensity

A high-intensity workout in deep water using a buoyancy aid. It includes cardiovascular fitness, muscle conditioning and toning.

A fun, easy-paced, low-impact exercise class that includes cardiovascular fitness, muscle conditioning and stretching.

Activate Circuit

A fun, easy-paced, low-impact workout in the gym that includes a sequence of muscle conditioning/toning exercises, mixed with cardiovascular fitness exercises. Participants work at their own pace.

Activate Stability

Activate Yoga

Boxing fit

An energetic class combining boxing skills and cardio. Build strength, cardiovascular fitness and confidence.

Get your heart and lungs pumping with this cardio blast. Suitable for intermediate and advanced levels.

A complete workout that is designed to strengthen all the muscles of your mid section in order to improve strength, mobility and function

Pilates

Improve posture while increasing core strength, muscle tone, flexibility and balance. *Saturday 9am is a beginners' class. Please bring a mat to class.

 

Pregnancy aqua

A class that caters to both pre and post-natal fitness. This class includes gentle exercise to maintain health and help improve posture, circulation and sleep.

 

Pump

A fun, dynamic, all-over conditioning, weight-based programme that will improve muscle tone and endurance.

 

Spin

A fun, fast-paced cardio workout on a spin cycle. Burn maximum calories fast as well as tone and shape your body. Please book 24 hours in advance. Participants must be on their bike to ride at start time. No late entry.

 

Swiss ball

Improves core function, balance and coordination through dynamic exercises.

 

Vinyasa Yoga

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga allows us to work the deeper ‘Yin” tissues of our ligaments, joints, deep fascial networks, energy meridians and even our bones. For optimum health we need all of our tissues to be exercised.
